Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about mobile proxies — how they work, what they cost, and what you can do with them.
General
What is a mobile proxy?
A mobile proxy routes your internet traffic through real mobile devices connected to carrier networks (AT&T, T-Mobile, Vodafone, etc.). The IP address you receive is assigned by the carrier via CGNAT (Carrier-Grade NAT, RFC 6598), making it indistinguishable from a regular mobile user's IP.
Are mobile proxies legal?
Yes. The proxy itself is legal technology. However, what you do through it must comply with the target website's Terms of Service and your local laws. The proxy is a tool — legality depends on usage.
How is a mobile proxy different from a VPN?
A VPN encrypts all your traffic and routes it through a server for privacy. A mobile proxy provides a real carrier IP for tasks that require high trust, like automation, scraping, or multi-account management. Different tools for different jobs. See our full comparison →
Technical
What protocols do you support?
HTTP, HTTPS, and SOCKS5. SOCKS5 supports UDP, which is needed for some applications like VoIP and certain streaming protocols.
What is IP rotation?
IP rotation means the proxy gateway routes each request (or group of requests) through a different modem, assigning a new carrier IP each time. Rotation frequency is configurable via our API.
What are sticky sessions?
Sticky sessions let you maintain the same IP address for a set duration, typically 1 to 30 minutes. This is controlled by passing a session ID in your proxy credentials. Useful for tasks that require a consistent identity across multiple requests.
What is CGNAT?
Carrier-Grade NAT (CGNAT, defined in RFC 6598) is how mobile carriers share a single public IP address among hundreds or thousands of users simultaneously. This is exactly why mobile IPs are trusted by websites — blocking one IP would block thousands of legitimate mobile users. Deep dive into CGNAT →
What speeds can I expect?
4G/LTE connections typically deliver 20-80 Mbps. 5G connections can reach 300+ Mbps. Actual speeds depend on the carrier, location, and network congestion at the time of use. 4G vs 5G comparison →
Pricing & Setup
How long does setup take?
About 30 seconds. API credentials are delivered instantly after payment. No hardware, no configuration wizards — just plug the credentials into your tool and go.
Is there a bandwidth limit?
No. All plans include unlimited bandwidth. You pay for access, not for data transfer. View plans →
Which countries are available?
Currently: USA, UK, France, Germany, and the Netherlands. We are actively expanding to more locations. See all locations →
Do you offer an API?
Yes. A full REST API for proxy listing, IP rotation, and account management. Documentation includes code examples for Python, Node.js, cURL, and more. API documentation →
Use Cases
Can I use mobile proxies for web scraping?
Yes. Carrier IPs bypass most anti-bot systems because they are shared by real mobile users. Mobile proxies are the most reliable option for scraping protected websites. Web scraping guide →
Can I manage multiple social media accounts?
Yes. Each account gets a unique carrier IP via sticky sessions, so platforms see each account as coming from a different mobile device. This is the standard approach for agencies and marketers. Instagram proxy setup →
Do mobile proxies work with antidetect browsers?
Yes. Our proxies are compatible with all major antidetect browsers including Dolphin Anty, GoLogin, Multilogin, AdsPower, and others. HTTP and SOCKS5 protocols are universally supported. See compatible tools →
